Bihar and Gujarat state budgets to be presented today

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi will present the state budget for 2011-12 in the state Legislative Assembly this afternoon for the 7th consecutive year. The plan size of the state government for the next financial year is 24,000 crore rupees. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the state annual budget is expected to give an impetus to development and provide stability to growth rate. In Gujarat, State Finance Minister Mr.Vajubhai Vala will present the budget for year 2011-2012 in the house today. This is the record 17th time that Mr.Vala will present the budget in the state Assembly. During the opening of budget session yesterday, the opposition Congress restrained Governor Dr Kamla from delivering her speech in the State Assembly . When Governor Dr Kamla started addressing the session, Congress members shouted slogans against the pathetic conditions of the farmers in the state. Governor had to cut short her speech and leave the House.
