In Bihar, the 75th Republic Day is being celebrated with traditional fervor and patriotic feeling. The main state-level function was organized at Gandhi Maidan Patna, where Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar unfurled the tricolor and reviewed the parade.  <br />''<br />''Addressing the function, Mr. Arlekar said, the state government is working for the welfare and upliftment of the deprived and downtrodden. He added that the Bihar government is providing opportunities for employment and making them self-reliant with several corrective measures.  <br />''<br />''Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and colleague from his cabinet, and senior officials were present at the function.<br />'' <br />''Despite severe cold conditions and low visibility captivating parade by police personnel, central police forces, army, NCC, and Scout cadets win applauds from people.  <br />''<br />''Informative and entertaining tableau by 14 different departments of state government mesmerized audiences. Tableau based on the life of former Chief Minister Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur was the center of attraction because he was recently honoured by the country's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna. <br />
