Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said big investment are coming from foreign agencies for Smart Cities project. Talking to media in New Delhi today, another 1.5 billion US dollar are forthcoming from World Bank and French agency AFD will also provide 100 billion Euros. Mr Puri said talks are in advance stage. He said government have already got investment of 30 billion US dollar. <br/><br/>The Housing and Urban Affairs Minister said Private players are playing an important role in the development of Smart Cities. He said cities should leverage Government funds access to private sector financing, with several domestic and foreign investors looking for PPP opportunities. He said by June 2018 some smart cites will be ready. He said AMRUT and Smart Cities Mission are based on the idea of competitive and cooperative federalism. <br/><br/>
