Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today. He arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a nine-day visit to India. Several Union Ministers will also call on him to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

The Bhutan King will be accorded ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan today. President Pratibha Devisingh Patil is organising a banquet in the honour of the visiting dignitary.

The Bhutan King is accompanied by his wife. This is the first visit abroad of the king after the Royal Wedding on 13 of this month.

The couple will also go to Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur during their stay. The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level visits and exchanges between India and Bhutan.
