The Bhutan Government yesterday announced of connecting Guwahati with Singapore by introducing flights in the Thimphu-Guwahati-Singapore sector. <br/><br/>The announcement came in the wake of first two-day long Global Investors Summit organized by Assam Government from today in Guwahati. Bhutan's Foreign Minister Damco Dorji announced this in Guwahati yesterday at the opening of Royal Bhutanese Consulate General office at Panjabari in the city. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and the Bhutanese Foreign Minister Mr. Dorji jointly inaugurated the consulate. <br/><br/>The proposed flight service will be the second initiative of the Royal Bhutan Government, after its already operational international flight from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport of Guwahati with flights between Bhutan capital Thimphu, Guwahati and Bangkok.<br/><br/>Bhutan Government officials said the frequency of the flights and other details will be announced in course of time. The Bhutanese Foreign Minister also said work on the railway project with India and its Northeast region is going on.<br/><br/>Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal thanked the Royal Bhutan Government for announcing the second international flight touching Guwahati. He also said that Prime Minister's announcement of 'Act East Policy' has repositioned North East at the centre of India's relations with ASEAN and Bangladesh-Bhutan-India- Nepal countries.<br/>
