Bhubneshwar-Delhi Rajdhani Express freed from Maoists hold up

Bhubaneswar-Delhi Rajdhani Express which was stopped allegedly by the Maoists is expected to arrive at New Delhi Railway Station by 3.35 pm on Wednesday afternoon. The train resumes journey after a seven-hour detention at Banstola in West Midnapore district. Sources said, the train is running 7 hours late from the scheduled time. Talking to newsmen in New Delhi, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee said that passenger's safety is the top priority of the government and the CRPF personnel who reached the incident site by relief train , will escort the train till Delhi. Railway sources said, the New Delhi bound train 2443A which was on its way from Bhubneshwar to Delhi was stopped by the Maoists ,146 kms from Bhubheneshwar between Sardiha and Jhargram railway stations in Kharagpur division at 2.45 pm on Tuesday and its driver Anand Rao was abducted. AIR correspondent reports that the activists, demanded the release of their jailed leader Chhatradhar Mahato. <br/>
