Bhubaneshwar-Delhi Rajdhani to reach Delhi in the evening

The Delhi bound Rajdhani Express from Bhubaneshwar which was held captive by Maoists yesterday, is expected to reach New Delhi around 7PM. Today . According to Northern Railway, the train was earlier scheduled to reach New Delhi at 1PM. CRPF personnel are escorting the train to ensure safety of the passengers. Home Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday personally monitored the situation, keeping in touch with security forces on the ground and the state government.<br/>Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that doctors are on board the train to treat traumatized passengers.<br/>The Union Home Secretary G K Pillai in an interview to a television channel confirmed that the entire train hostage drama was planned by the Maoists, who sent out a message that they will continue with their armed struggle. West Bengal Home Secretary has also confirmed that Maoists are behind the incident.<br/>Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has termed the attack on the Rajdhani Express as an unforgivable crime. Talking to reporters in Bhuvaneswar, he said the activists had put hundreds of people including women and children in trouble. Mr. Naveen Patnaik said that the State governments, the Union Home ministry and Railways need to take extra care to ensure that such incidents do not occur in future. He said both Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee informed him about the safety of passengers.<br/>Mr. Patnaik, who also took up the matter with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh besides West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, said the time has come for combating the Maoist menace unitedly. He said they are ruthless, anti-national and criminal and there should be no idea of negotiation with them.
