Banaras Hindu University, BHU Registrar Dr. Neeraj Tripathi has been asked to look after the routine administrative responsibilities of the Vice Chancellor of the university during infinite leave of the VC Prof GC Tripathi. In his leave application Prof. Tripathi has mentioned about it. He has not mentioned reasons of and period of his leave. <br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that VC Prof. Tripathi proceeded on leave from October 2 submitting his leave application to the Registrar. University has reopened yesterday after 8 days vacation. University was closed following students agitation on September 24. <br/><br/>Large number of security forces are deployed inside the campus to maintain peace. Academic activities has begun at the campus as huge increase in Students presence has been witnessed today. District and university administration have several measures in place to ensure security of the girl students and to apprehend miscreants. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that justice VK Dixit nominated by the University to probe into the recent incidents on the campus has reached at the campus and has held meeting with authorities. <br/><br/>He has invited documents and statements from all concerned about the incidents. University administration has opened a portal in the name of Right to Administration to receive the complaints of students. Similarly two help line numbers have also been operationalised for the purpose. Numbers are 8004922000 and 0543 2369134. <br/><br/>Administration has said that violence will not be tolerated and outsiders will not be allowed in the campus for their unlawful activities. BHU was on turmoil following students' agitation on the security issues of girl students. University was closed on September 24 to October 2.
