In Gujarat, bail plea hearing of arrested IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt has been adjourned till Wednesday. A review petition filed by the police for his remand, was adjourned till 30th November during yesterday’s hearing in another court. Bhatt was arrested following a complaint of abducting and forcefully recording the statement of a police constable K.D.Pant. He was arrested on 30th September and sent in judicial custody after Ahmedabad district court had rejected his police remand. Earlier, Bhatt had filed an affidavit in Supreme Court alleging complicity by Chief Minister Narendra Modi during post-Godhra riots. Later, he was charge sheeted by the state Government and suspended for alleged unauthorized absence from duty.
