In Nepal , the battlelines are drawn between UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Baburam Bhattarai and Nepali Congress Parliamentary leader Ram Chandra Poudel for the post next Prime Minister. Only the two of them filed their nominations for the post of the Prime Minister on Friday. Both of the candidates expressed confidence of winning the voting which is to be held on Sunday .Dr. Bhattari said he stands for peace and constitution, while Mr. Poudel said he stands for sustainable peace and timely statute. Meanwhile the CPN-UML said that the proposals the UCPN (Maoist) has taken for the peace process is not sufficient. At a meeting of leaders of the two parties CPN-UML made the party is ready to hold additional discussions. The Nepali Congress also held meetings with the CPN-UML and other parties. Both the parties Maoist and Nepali Congress have intensified their efforts to get support for their candidate. While the two main parties could not reach any agreement on a consensus this is the fourth time a government is being formed after the elections in2008. The voting is taking place at a time when the present term of the Constituent Assembly is ending on the 31st of this month and the House is to take up the bill for extension of the Assembly soon after the Prime minister is chosen. However this time since there are only two candidates in the fray , and no one can abstain, the country would be spared the 17 rounds it went through before JhalaNath Khanal was chosen as Prime Minister.
