In Sikkim, with a view to create awareness among the masses about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes being undertaken in the State, another Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign began in Yangyang district today. It was inaugurated by the East District Zila Panchayat Adhyaksha Mr. Bimal Dabari. The campaign has been organized by the Press Information Bureau in collaboration with other media units under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Our Gangtok correspondent reports that fifteen Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaigns have already been held in the State, covering more than forty percent of the State’s population. The fact that the people of this landlocked remote border State have received the campaigns very well becomes evident from the fact that they not only throng the venues in large numbers but also actively participate in the question-answer sessions. The first Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign in the State was held in Gangtok in November 2006.
