Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign begins in Sikkim

With a view to create awareness among the masses about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes being undertaken in the State of Sikkim, a Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign began at Ranka in East Sikkim district on Thursday. It was inaugurated by the State Minister for Rural Management and Development and Information and Public Relations, Shri C B Karki. The campaign has been organized by the Press Information Bureau in collaboration with other media units under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. AIR Gangtok correspondent reports that fourteen Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaigns have been held in the State so far. About forty percent of this border State’s population, spread over in and around four district headquarters, four sub-divisional headquarters and six Block headquarters, have been covered under them. The first Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign in the State was held in Gangtok in November 2006.
