In Gujarat, the three-day Bharat Nirman- Public Information Campaign began at Harij village of Patan district in North Gujarat to educate the masses about development programmes. Addressing the Jan Pratinidhi Samelan, Jagdish Thakor, MP, appealed to the elected representatives of the people to create an awareness about the welfare programs of the Government among the poor people. Speaking on the occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Pravin Rashtrapal praised the Public Information Campaign and expressed the hope that it would help the people below the poverty line. AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that during the three-day campaign, Rozgar Samelan with the main focus on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act will be held. The public Information Campaign is being organised by the Press Information Bureau, in which other media units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting including All India Radio and Doordarshan are participating.
