<span style="color: #222222;">In Himachal Pradesh, the 'Bharat Bandh' call given by farmer unions against the Centre's agriculture laws failed to evoke much response in the State as most shops and business establishments remained open for the public. However, the Congress and Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) held separate dharnas in the State capital Shimla and other districts. In Shimla, most of the shops were open on Mall road, middle and lower bazaar and other areas.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has termed the Bharat Bandh call supported by all the opposition parties as a complete failure. He said that the Bandh had no impact in the State as traffic movement was smooth as usual barring a few incidents of road blockade by Congress and CPM leaders in Shimla town.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Chief Minister said that the opposition leaders have failed to garner the support of common man as people of the State know that agriculture laws enacted by the Central Government is beneficial for the farmers.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Thakur said that the opposition parties were desperately trying to rake up this whole issue in a bid to remain politically alive. He said that the same political parties who are now opposing these laws, had given their full support to the Bills in the UPA Government led by Dr Manmohan Singh.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Chief Minister expressed hope that the issue would be resolved through dialogue at the earliest as farmers of the Country have full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.</span>
