Pune Police have arrested Bishnaram Bishnoi, a main accused in the Bhanwari Devi murder case at Lonavala today. The Pune Commissioner of Police, Meera Borwankar informed the media that the CBI had tipped off Pune Police that Bishnaram is likely to be found in and around Pune and the Police traced him to an industrial area at Lonavala near Pune. A local court has granted two day transit remand for Bishnaram. Ms. Borwankar said that Bishnaram carried a 5 lakh rupees reward from CBI for his capture, which now will be given to the Crime Branch of Pune Police. Also, an additional reward of 25 thousand rupees has been declared for the team who captured Bishnaram.
