The CBI today filed a status report on the Bhanwari Devi case in the Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur.The CBI that filed the report in a sealed envelope also requested the court to provide a Deputy Inspector General rank Police officer to assist it in searching for Bhanwari Devi, missing since 1st September, this year. Advising the CBI to approach the court for this requisition, the judges said that if the government does not take any action in this regard then it can interfere. The court gave this direction while hearing the habeas corpus petition filed by husband of Bhanwari Devi, Amarchand. The next hearing into the matter will be on 14th of this month. Earlier, the CBI questioned former State Water Resource Minister Mahipal Maderna yesterday for 7 hours. Maderna is an accused in the case.
