<span style="color: #222222;">206th birth anniversary of Nepali poet Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya or Bhanu Jayanti is being celebrated in Sikkim today. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Nepali Sahitya Parishad organised a programme at Bhanu Udyan in Gangtok, which was attended by Governor Ganga Prasad and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Governor spoke on the poet's life and his notable contribution to Nepali language. He asked everyone to imbibe the values presented in his works.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Tamang said that Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya laid the foundation of Nepali literature and is revered as a significant literary figure in Nepali communities.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Tamang credited the poet for translating the Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali, thereby making it understandable for a wide range of Nepali speaking communities globally.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The occasion was celebrated in a traditional manner at Gyalshing, West Sikkim, where deputy speaker of Sikkim legislative assembly Sangay Lepcha and state cabinet minister Lok Nath Sharma paid tribute to the poet at Bharatiya Nepali Literary and Cultural Research Centre.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Namchi, South Sikkim, prayers and garlands were offered at the statue of the poet at Bhanu Shailik today.</span><br />''
