A four-day cultural festival showcasing various tourist destinations in Bhaderwah town, a mountainous hill resort in Doda district of Jammu Division, started on Friday. . The folk dances like Dhiku dance, Bhaderwahi folk songs, Padderi, Pogali dance, Kashmiri and Dogri songs, and many other programmes kept the audience spell bound.Tourism plays an important part in the economy of the State. Keeping this in mind the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has formulated a special package for the revival of tourism in the State and has initiated many schemes for the revival and development of tourism. As part of these initiatives, State Government is focusing on the development of Bhaderwah, which is called ‘Chotta Kashmir’ in a big way. Massive tourism development in the area will not only give boost to economy of the area and state but will also help immensely in transforming socio economic condition of the people of the region by creating job opportunities for the unemployed youth.
