In Tripura, one civilian was killed when Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) entered into the Indian Territory at Tarapukhur area of Shipaijala District and indiscriminately fired 4 rounds in the village.

According to senior BSF officials, today at around 6:30 am five BGB jawans from Bourabazar BOP entered into the Indian area of Tarapukhur and started firing indiscriminately which lead to the death of the Indian civilian. One Jawan from the 33 battalion of BGB was also apprehended by the BSF and is in the custody of BSF.

Flag meeting between the BSF and BGB is also expected to take place today and BSF is going to lodge strong protest, said a senior BSF official.
