Better relations between India and Pakistan in the interests of both nations: Meira Kumar

The Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar has said that better relations between India and Pakistan are in the interests of both the nations and New Delhi is taking initiatives in this direction. Addressing media persons in Raipur, Chhattisgarh after the conclusion of the conference on Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, she said these efforts are a continuous process. Mrs Kumar was replying to a question on Pakistan Senate Deputy Chairman Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali’s statement that parliamentarians and legislators of both the countries have to take initiative to bridge the differences between both the nations. All the delegates unanimously expressed concern on terrorism and called for joint efforts at the international level to combat the menace in India and south Asia regions.
