Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has said, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme is being extended to 61 more districts. Addressing a workshop on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in New Delhi today, the Minister said, the scheme was initiated in 100 districts and it has been successful in around 60 districts. <br/><br/>She said, the reasons why some districts have not fared well will be analysed and follow up measures will be taken. Mrs Gandhi expressed hope that in the 61 new districts, the majority will achieve positive trends in Child Sex Ratio.<br/><br/>The workshop focused on orienting participants on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao guidelines, district action plans, parameters for reporting and monitoring mechanisms. Principal Secretaries and District officials of 61 additional districts in-charge for the implementation of the scheme were present in the workshop.
