Bengaluru: Chief Commissioner issues instructions to clear complaints received from rain-hit areas in three days

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The Chief Commissioner in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Tushar Girinath visited the Control room of the municipal corporation today and reviewed the status of complaints received from the public from rain-hit areas in Bengaluru. The control room received 70 complaints after the torrential rain hit the city yesterday. Tushar Girinath has issued instructions to clear the complaints in three days. He issued a warning that after three days' notice and disciplinary action will be initiated against officials not acting on the complaints. The Bengaluru city electricity company BESCOM has informed that they received 44,784 complaints yesterday through their helpline. Due to rain, hailstorm, and gushing wind yesterday, 546 light poles fell down. The rain also damaged 64 transmitters and nine double pole starters.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"> </p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The weather department has forecast rain or thundershowers over the next 24 hours at many places over all the districts of South Interior Karnataka. In the next 48 hours, heavy rain is predicted at isolated places over Chikkamagaluru, Kogadu, and Hassan. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph are expected in the state.</span></p>
