Bengal have lifted their maiden Vijay Hazare Cricket Trophy. In the final at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi today, they comprehensively beat heavyweights Mumbai by six wickets. All-rounder Laxmi Ratan Shukla hit an unbeaten 106 for the winners. Bengal chased down the target of 249 with 23 balls to spare. In the process, Bengal won their first National One Day Championship in fourth attempt. Incidentally, it was also Saurav Ganguly's maiden national title as Bengal captain having made his first-class debut way back in 1990.
