Bengal to set up special rescue force

The West Bengal Government has decided to set up special rescue force to meet emergency situation. The force will be set up under the State Fire Services Department which will act for rescue operations during natural disaster, fire incident, landslides, building or bridge collapse and other emergency situation. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that the rescue force will be stationed at Siliguri in North Bengal, Durgapur in Burdwan and in Kolkata. Altogether 180 people will be recruited for this purpose. The proposal for raising the rescue force will be placed before the State Cabinet Meeting on next Thursday.
