Central Bureau of Investigation has denied media reports alleging that CBI found no evidence in 21 cases of rape and attempt to rape received from the National Human Right Commission on alleged post poll violence in West Bengal. <br />''<br />''CBI said, it has been reported that 21 number of instances of sexual assault forwarded by NHRC, were closed by CBI alleging that no evidence of rape, attempt to rape, molestation, sexual assault was found in those complaints. CBI termed these reports misrepresentation of facts, misleading and false.<br />''<br />''It said, Calcutta High Court had ordered the CBI in August last year to investigate the incidents involving offenses of murder, rape and attempt to rape.<br />'' <br />''CBI said, it had received 29 number of complaints of sexual assault from NHRC by the end of last month. Out of these, two cases have been handed over to State SIT. Further, two complaints relating to same incident of sexual assault were combined, resulting in registration of only one case for investigation. CBI said, remaining cases are under progress. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">It further said, CBI had registered 50 regular cases and initiated one preliminary enquiry into the incidents of post poll violence. By the time of submission of status report, CBI had submitted charge sheet in 10 cases while remaining cases are under progress.</span><br />
