Bengal: Polling on, 19 booths boycotted

In West Bengal, peaceful voting is on for the second phase of Assembly elections in the State. Over 46 per cent polling was recorded in the first five hours of voting.Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Gupta said 53 EVMs had been replaced due to technical snag.Boycott of votes were also reported from 19 polling booths in Murshidabad, Nodia and Birbhum districts on local issues. The voting is taking place in 50 seats in the three districts amdist tight security.
