Bengal Liquor tragedy: Main accused, 3 office associates remanded for 14 days CID custody

In West Bengal, a sub divisional court of diamond harbor on Sunday remanded the main accused Noor Islam Fakir alias Khora Badsa and three office associates for 14 days CID custody in connection with recent liquor tragedy in the state. The CID had arrested four of them on Saturday and they were produced before the court Sunday morning. AIR correspondent reports that 170 people had died after consuming illicit liquor at Sangrampur in South 24 paragana district on 13th of this month. The state government had ordered a CID probe over the incident besides giving two lakh rupees compensation to the next of kins of the victims.
