Bengal hospital fire: CM Mamata to reward 36 rescuers

West Bengal Government has decided to reward 36 local people who immediately swung into action for rescue operations in the devastating fire which broke out into a private hospital in Kolkata on Friday. Giving this information in Kolkata on Sunday, the Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee said that the government will give recognition to their courage for carrying out the rescue job at the risk of their lives. Meanwhile, the death toll in the fire tragedy has gone up to 92. The State government has already announced Judicial probe over the incident. AIR correspondent reports that a fire safety survey begins in Kolkata on Monday in all schools, hospitals, shopping malls and other important public places in the wake of the fire tragedy.
