Bengal Govt announces one more round of subsidy on diesel

The West Bengal Government has announced one more round of subsidy on diesel for private transport system. The State Finance Minister, Dr. Asim Dasgupta told newsmen in Kolkata this afternoon that the Government has decided to give one rupee subsidy per liter on diesel to give relief to the people from escalation of passengers fare in private transports. With this the subsidy on diesel has gone up to rupees two per liter in transport sector.Dr. Dasgupta said that State has to bear 280 crore rupees from State exchequer annually for this purpose. Later, The Transport Minister, Mr. Ranjit Kundu hoped that the private transport owners will now leave their demands for hike of passenger fares following the decision.
