Bengal Govt announces medical insurance facility for workers of unorganised sector

The West Bengal Government has announced medical insurance facility for the workers of unorganised sector. The state Finance Minister Dr. Asim Dasgupta announced this in presence of state Labour Minister Mr. Anadi Sahoo in Kolkata today. Dr. Dasgupta said that the Government has allocated 45 crore rupees for this purpose and about 20 lakh workers will be benefited by this decision. Under the scheme workers living above poverty line (APL) will get the facility for treatment and other clinical tests of 5 thousand rupees per year. Workers of 29 sectors including Tailoring, Shops & Establishments, Bakery, Village based cottage industries, Security agencies will get the benefit.
