Bengal CM seeks detailed report on unused land

The West Bengal Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee has sought a detailed report from Departmental secretaries on unused land lying with various State Government Departments. Miss Banerjee had a meeting with Departmental secretaries, District Magistrates and Superintendent of Police in Kolkata on Tuesday on various developmental issues and prevailing law & order situation in the state. Miss Banerjee stressed the need for setting up of a land bank in the state. Giving the details of the meeting the State Industry Minister Mr. Partha Chatterjee said this evening that the Chief Minister instructed the District Administrations to ensure reaching of food items and safe drinking water to the poor people living at Jungle Mahal and other backward areas. Besides the meeting also discussed social security schemes of tea Garden workers and ensuring of 100 days of works to poor people. The Chief Minister also instructed the police administration to take effective steps to maintain peace.
