Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said large benefits of government's demonetisation move are visible now. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi, Mr Jaitley said agriculture, tourism and air travel have shown improvement following the move. He said Rabi crop sowing is 6.3 percent higher as compared to last year, while mutual fund registered a growth of 11 percent.<br/><br/>The Minister also said Life insurance business has also shown significant increase. He informed net increase in income tax so far has been to the extent of 14.4 percent till 19th December. Giving details about indirect tax collection, Mr Jaitley said from April to November this year, the tax collection in this mode has increased by 26.2 percent. <br/><br/>Mr Jaitley said that demonetisation has in fact improved the situation of the economy, contrary to what was being said by critics of the move.<br/><br/>The Minister said he is extremely grateful to people who supported the demonetisation move. He said remonetisation has substantially advanced and not a single incident of unrest has been reported. <br/><br/>He said RBI has enough currency which will be pumped into the system leading to impoved situation. The Minister stated that large part of currency has been replaced and more 500 rupee notes will be released.
