Benchmark domestic stocks today plunged around one and half per cent in intra-day trade. The Sensex and Nifty logged losses amid mixed global cues.
 
The BSE Sensex was trading 738 points, or 1.53 per cent, down at 47,610. The NSE Nifty also declined 208 points, or 1.46 per cent to trade at 14,031. 
 
At the forex market, the rupee appreciated 14 paise to Rs 72.81 against the US dollar in afternoon deals.
