In Bihar, major portion of the areas of the state is reeling under drought like situation as a result of scanty rainfall. There has below average rainfall in 32 out of 38 districts of the state. During the ongoing monsoon 12 to 14 percent rainfall has been recorded so far.There has been only41 percent paddy plantation. The situation is alarming with the rainfall deficit badly affecting Kharif crops. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will review overall drought situation of the state today’s in the cabinet meeting.AIR Patna correspondent reports that the state government is set to declare over two dozen districts as drought-hit. The state government has already allocated one hundred crores to tackle drought.
