The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has said he is ordering the shut down of the pipeline that takes Russian gas to Europe. <br/><br/>The move comes after the Russian State-controlled gas company Gazprom announced it was further reducing supplies of natural gas to Belarus in a dispute over payments. <br/><br/>Gazprom chief executive has said supplies were being cut by 30 per cent from today. Mr. Lukashenko said he would not allow gas supplies to Europe to resume until Moscow had paid money it owed to Belarus for its transit.
