Karnataka minister Govind M Karjol has informed that Belagavi district has incurred losses worth 7800 crore rupees due to incessant rain and floods recently. After holding a review meeting on Covid and natural calamity in the district, the minister informed media persons that 21300 electric poles, 5300 transformers were damaged.<br />''<br />''Several roads, government buildings, bridges are also damaged apart from crop loss. The exact extent of losses will be known after a survey. Due to inclement weather 38000 displaced people were sheltered in 51 relief camps.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">He said that the Deputy Commissioner in Belagavi district has 92 crore rupees and interim relief of 10,000 rupees will be released through RTGS to the distressed. The minister informed that a sum of 120 crore rupees will be sought for the restoration of essential infrastructure in the district.</span><br />
