Spate of deaths continue unabated in the Beggars Rehabilitation Centre in Bangaluru. Six more beggars in the Centre died today, taking the toll to 18 in the last three days. The medical reason for the deaths is yet to be identified. However the Social Welfare Department Minister D.Sudhakar told media persons today that doctors have declared that deaths occurred due to natural reasons.Meanwhile, Karnataka Government has set up a Committee under Social Welfare Commissioner to investigate the reasons behind the deaths. District Health Officer Dr Hari Murthy, who was camping in the Rehabilitation Centre, said ten doctors and 20 nurses were posted to provide necessary medical treatment. The post mortem report is awaited. Twenty seven of them had been affected with diarrhoea and the medical reasons for this are yet to be diagnosed.They were admitted to Indiranagar Isolation Hospital where treatment is being given to them. The rehabilitation centre is offering shelter to about 2,533 beggars.
