<br/>Nearly a year after the mutiny of Bangladesh Rifles personnel, the trial of those involved in the mutiny at the Pilkhana headquarters began today in Dhaka. The Special Court-5, a three-member tribunal headed by BDR chief Major General Mohammed Mainul Islam began hearing the case related to 86 personnel allegedly involved in the mutiny in the Dhaka sector. The Bangladesh government had formed six special courts under BDR law last year, including two in Dhaka, to try the nearly 3,500 border guards accused of being involved in the BDR mutiny at the headquarters and in different districts. The first of the mutiny trials began at Rangamati on November 24th last year and trials are also being held in Feni, Satkhira and Thakurgaon. At least 74 people, including 57 army officers, were killed in the mutiny by BDR personnel at the Pilkhana headquarters in Dhaka on February 25-26th last year.<br/>
