Even after 24 hours of Chief Minister Shibu Soren's appeal to the Maoists to release the abducted BDO of Dhalbhumgarh Block in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, the Maoists have not yet released the BDO. Although the state government has begun the legal process to free some of the jailed Maoists in return to safe release of the abducted BDO, Prashant Kumar Layak, from the clutches of the ultra outfit.<br/><br/>Sources have stated that the abducted BDO is safe in the captivity of the Maoists. Reports are that the Maoists made a call to the wife of the abducted BDO and he is reported to be alright.<br/><br/>The extremists had said yesterday that they will release the BDO if the state government fulfill their demands including unconditional release of 14 of their companions, lodged in Ghatshila jail of the district.<br/><br/>Expressing the government's inability to set free the jailed Maoists, the Inspector General of Police Rezi Dung Dung has said that only court can grant bail to the jailed ultras. He also stated that the police have already moved the matter for the release of the ultras before the Ghatshila court of the East Singhbhum district.<br/><br/>In response to it, giving time and space to the Maoists to release the BDO, the Shibu government have put on hold the ongoing search operations in the Gurabandha area of the East Singhbhum district.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the villagers in Jiyan village of Gurabandha block of the East Singhbhum district took out a protest rally against the Maoists and demanded for the safe release of the abducted BDO.<br/>
