In Bangladesh, 59 jawans of the of the Bangladesh Border Guards of the Khulna sector headquarters were on Saturday sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for various terms for their involvement in the February 2009 mutiny. The Special court 12, headed by BGB Rajshahi sector commander Colonel Ehia Azam Khan sentenced them to varying terms of four months to six years on Saturday. Of the convicts, 11 will be jailed for six years, 3 for four years, 3 for three years and a half, 11 for three years, 1 for two years and a half, 5 for two years, 7 for a year and a half, 1 for a year, 10 for six months and 3 for four months. The court also imposed a fine of 100 takas on the convicted jawans.
