Bangladesh will get 250 MW uninterupted power supply from India by first week of October. Bangladesh Government has already given sovereign guarantee for 25 years power purchase to NTPC. An electrical grid interconnection between Beheramara in Bangladesh and Baharampur in West Bengal to transfer power across the border has already been completed. Trial runs of the 400 KV transmission line between Beheramara and Baharampur and 500 MW HVDC sub-station are going on since 25th August and will continue till September, 2013. Dhaka and New Delhi had signed a MOU for intergrid connectivity in 2010 during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to New Delhi. The Power Purchase Agreement between NTPC and Bangladesh Power Development Board in 2012. Export of power to Bangladesh is expected to give a boost to cooperation in power in South Asian region. Currently Bangladesh has a power deficit of around 1000MW everyday
