B’desh pays rich tributes to Language martyrs

<br/>Bangladesh today paid rich tributes to its Language Movement martyrs starting from a minute after midnight. President Zillur Rehman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia laid floral wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka where thousands of people had gathered to pay tributes. The day is also being observed around the world too as International Mother Language Day. In his message issued to mark the occasion, President Zillur Rehman said that the spirit of the Language Movement inspires us to stand against all sorts of injustice and unfairness. Earlier yesterday Prime minister Sheikh Hasina said that the Bangla Language Movement was an inspiration for others struggling to preserve their heritage around the world.
