B'desh has zero tolerance policy towards any form of violence, discrimination against religious minorities: AK Abdul Momen

<span style="color: #222222;">Government of Bangladesh has said it is committed to uphold religious pluralism and rights of the minorities. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking at the 2nd Ministerial meeting on advancing religious freedom hosted by the US Department of State on Thursday in Washington, foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said Bangladesh has a zero tolerance policy towards any form of violence and discrimination against religious minorities. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He also said that Bangladesh has maintained religious pluralism and minority rights in the country keeping a check on extremist elements.<br />'' <br />'' Dr. Momen said a new law has been enacted to prevent provocation, incitement and hate speech against any religion to maintain communal harmony. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said government has allocated around US$ 900 million this year to modernise Madarsa education in the country. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A press statement issued today by the foreign ministry of Bangladesh quoted Dr. Momen as saying that government believes in the national slogan 'Religion unto Individual, festivals unto all' to promote religious accommodation among people of the country.</span><br />'' <br />''
