In Bangladesh, security forces have arrested 6 activists of banned Neo-JMB militant outfit in Dhaka for allegedly planning to kill an outspoken Islamic scholar for his stand against extremism. Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Chief Monirul Islam told reporters that the 6 were arrested in a raid in the capital yesterday. <br/><br/>While not disclosing the name of the target Islamic scholars for security reasons, Monirul islam said the arrested wanted to kill him during the current fasting month of Ramadan.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, RAB has said they have arrested a garment factory owner for allegedly funding the militant group's purchase of arms and explosives. <br/><br/>RAB spokesperson said the man along with his driver was arrested Sunday night in Narayangang, the outskirts of Dhaka. security has been stepped up at all sensitive places across the country especially in Dhaka.
