Bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh is regarded as historic and presently it has taken a new height and dimension due to the joint efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina. This was stated by Iqbal Shobhan Chowdhury, media advisor to the Bangladesh Prime Minister in Agartala on Saturday. <br/><br/>Mr. Chowdhury, who arrived in Agartala on Saturday to attend a cultural programme was interacting with media persons at Agartala Press Club. He said that Bangladesh aspires for further enhancing the friendship with India. <br/><br/>Referring to the problems of river water sharing and trans-border issues, he expressed hope that these issues will be addressed through mutual dialogue. He said people from both sides want improved relations between two countries. He further said that, last year 14 lakhs Bangladeshi people have visited India for different purposes such as business, medical treatment and travel.
