The Bangladesh cabinet on Monday adopted a resolution mourning the death of veteran Indian politician Jyoti Basu. The cabinet which met on Monday chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina passed a resolution which said that ‘the legendary figure of the left-leaning politics will be remembered in the politics of the sub-continent for his extra- ordinary sacrifice and struggle. <br/><br/>The resolution also said that Bangladesh lost a longstanding friend at his death" and the people of this country would particularly recall "with gratitude" his contribution in ensuring Bangladesh's justified share in the Ganges water. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be reaching Kolkata on Tuesday along with a delegation to pay tributes to Jyoti Basu.
