The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI today reprimanded batsman Virat Kohli for his recent abusive behaviour towards a journalist and asked him to maintain the dignity of the team and avoid such incidents in the future. The said incident had taken place during India's practice session at Perth a couple of days ago.A BCCI statement said that the team management has been asked to ensure that such incidents are not repeated. The BCCI's stand on the controversy comes a day after the team management sought to down play the incident and even denied that Kohli hurled abuses at a journalist of a leading newspaper. Subsequently, the newspaper decided to write to the BCCI and the reporter involved lodged a complaint with the ICC. Meanwhile, the newspaper, whose reporter had been abused by Kohli, has decided not to take the matter any further. Mr Thakur urged the concerned parties to move on and focus on the team's World Cup campaign.
