BCCI Disciplinary Committee has deferred a decision on Cricket players Ajit Chandila and Hiken Shah till January 5th next year in spot-fixing charges against them. The three-member committee comprising President Shashank Manohar, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Niranjan Shah met in Mumbai yesterday and postponed the decision on possible sanctions on the players until January 5th. The committee gave the two players extended time to file a written response to the charges of spot-fixing against them till January 4th. Chandila was arrested by the police for allegedly trying to spot-fix IPL games in 2013 along with Rajasthan Royals teammates Sreesanth and Ankit Chavan, who both have been banned for life by the BCCI. Shah allegedly approached one of his colleagues from first-class cricket, who was also a member of one of the IPL teams.
