The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI has suspended controversial and high-profile Lalit Modi as IPL Commissioner. <br/><br/>In a press release issued late Sunday night, BCCI President Shashank Manohar said that the Cricket Board Secretary N Srinivasan has suspended Modi from the BCCI, IPL, the Working Committe and any other committee. <br/><br/>The BCCI also issued show cause notice to Modi asking him to explain within 15 days why disciplinary action should not be taken against him for his alleged individual mis-demeanours. <br/><br/>In his statement, Manohar said, while the BCCI members rejoice and celebrate the great success of IPL Season 3, the alleged acts of individual misdemeanors of Modi have brought a bad name to the administration of Cricket and the game itself. <br/><br/>Manohar also said he waited for the final match of IPL III to end as he did not want the event to be disrupted in any manner.<br/><br/>With this decision, Modi cannot participate in today's the Governing Council meeting that will go into the alleged financial wrong-doings in the IPL and how to set things right.<br/><br/>Reacting to the action against him, Modi wondered how he can attend the Governing Council meeting if he has been suspended. <br/><br/>Earlier, Modi had announced that he will participate and chair the meeting which will take place in Mumbai at 10 am today. <br/><br/>Moments before the Board announced the decision, a combative Modi made a hard-hitting speech before the awards ceremony of the IPL final match in which he said that all decisions have jointly been taken by the Governing Council and approved by the General Body. <br/><br/>Earlier, the BCCI top brass met at the Board headquarters in Mumbai to decide on the course of action against Modi.<br/><br/>
