BCCI rejects revised draft of National Sports Development Bill

Indian Cricket Control Board, BCCI has rejected the revised draft of the National Sports Development Bill saying certain aspects of the bill will destroy the autonomy of the board. In a press release issued in New Delhi on Sunday, Board Secretary Sanjay Jagdale said that the board is totally against the bill as it tends to encroach upon the fundamental rights of the sports bodies. He added that sportsis a state subject and legislative competence of the centre is limited in this regard. Mr. Jagdale also said that BCCI will communicate its objections to the sports ministry. He however clarified that the board completely supports good governance and transparency in the sports bodies.
